What is an Alkathon? Many of us remember being lonely, blue
and hungry our first Holidays in AA. Some of us had no old friends or family left, or would be expected to drink if we were around them. Now, no Newcomer should have to spend such a dreary
day if AA’s get together somewhere for an Alkathon. Older members that have put on such affairs have said that meeting old friends and new members at these Alkathons is like “being bathed in love”. Marathon meetings, lasting 24 hours, along with fellowship,
and lots of good food and coffee are the highlights of these events.
