Catching up - What Happened Last Month
and I joined 6300 other riders on the 2016 PAN
MASS CHALLENGE (PMC). This was Paul's 6th Pan
Mass, my first. I'm very thankful to have had a
veteran of the ride and his company's PMC Team,
Dassault Systems, to provide insight, fellowship and
encouragement- thanks Paul!

The purpose of the ride is fundraising and to
generate awareness for cancer research, with
100% of all monies raised by riders, going to the
Dana  Farber Cancer Institute in Boston.   Pan Mass
raised $45 million last year and, since the start of
the ride in 1980, has raised $500 million for Dana
Farber. The 2016 goal is $46 million.

I was personally motivated, before and during the ride, by Becky having her year-long journey with
breast cancer. Along the ride I was further inspired and motivated by the over 4000 volunteers
assisting this year's PMC, and the thousands of people  lining the route, cheering us on and thanking
us for "riding for a cure". The outpouring of support  and encouragement exceeded my imagination.  It
made the 192-mile, 2-day ride, all the more easy.

What's next? PMC 2017 for sure! We're also looking into the September Smilow cancer benefit ride,
Closer to Free. If riding a bike helps raise awareness and monies for cancer research - count me in!
Paul and I wish to thank all the generous people who contributed to our rides with their donations  and
